He has produced, choreographed and starred in his own world class shows. Nelson is renowned for his artistic contributions to the tango. Wherever he goes in the world of tango today, Nelson Avila is revered by amateurs and professional dancers alike as a true legend in his own time.
Madalyn Avila is a passionate ballroom dancer, performer, teacher and a lifelong student of Argentine Tango. She fell in love with the beauty, elegance and creativity of this wonderful dance when Tango Argentino came to New York in 1985. She believes that while Argentine Tango is a wonderful performing art it is a most highly evolved social dance to learn and love.
Madalyn and Nelson live in New York where they have a wonderful following of both amateur and professional students. Many have enjoyed their classes and performances at some of the best milongas in the greater New York area, as well as in Toronto, Montreal and Argentina. They organize special tango events for museums, charities, schools and private parties. They are available to travel for performances, workshops and tango seminars.
